The Bollinger Bar introduces La Grande Année Rosé 1999
La Grande Année Rosé 1999 is only available in very small quantities; in fact only 2,700 bottles have been produced for the UK in 2006. La Grande Année Rosé is a derivation of Bollinger's vintage La Grande Année, which is only produced in years of exceptional harvests. 1999 was one of the best harvests of recent years, making the 1999 Rosé one of Bollinger's most spectacular wines.
This latest offering at Scotland's only Bollinger Champagne Bar is set to delight its regular customers, who enjoy sipping a glass of Champagne in the luxurious surroundings of The Bollinger Bar at Palm Court. Since the launch of The Bollinger Bar in March last year, The Balmoral has witnessed a 25 per cent increase in Champagne sales. The luxury Champagne venue attracts many local residents, as well as The Balmoral's guests.
Simon Leschallas, Director for Bollinger Champagne said: "We are thrilled to be launching Bollinger La Grande Année Rosé 1999 at The Balmoral Hotel. We have had no Bollinger Rosé since the stock of the 1996 Vintage was exhausted some two years ago. The new 1999 Vintage, I am sure, will be received extremely well, once tasted, and seen in its new livery."
He added: "Our association with The Bollinger Bar at Palm Court, makes The Balmoral the perfect setting for showing our new Rosé."
The Balmoral's General Manager, Debbie Taylor, commented: "The introduction of The Bollinger Bar at Palm Court was one of our most successful ventures last year. People come from all over the country to visit The Bollinger Bar, to experience a sophisticated night out with outstanding service. It is fitting that Bollinger is launching this truly exceptional and luxurious Champagne at The Bollinger Bar."
