Hadrian's to host unique Italian and Scottish culinary evening
Hadrian's is delighted to welcome The Contessa Maria Cristina Rizzardi of the Guerrieri Rizzardi Vineyards who will personally introduce a selection of her finest wines. Jeff Bland, The Balmoral's Michelin-starred Executive Chef, has created an inspiring four-course gourmet menu to accompany the wines, including Scottish delicacies such as Hot Smoked Salmon topped with Skye Crab, and Blairgowrie Raspberries and Strawberries with Heather Honey Sauce.
The Guerrieri Rizzardi vineyards are situated on the banks of the picturesque Lake Garda in the historic wine-growing Veneto region in Italy. The vineyards were founded as a result of the union of two ancient wine producers: the oldest estate, belonging to the Counts Guerrieri, was founded in 1450 and it is in their original building in Bardolino that the firm is now based. The second estate belonged to the Counts Rizzardi who acquired their vineyards in 1678. The vineyards are now overseen by the family of The Contessa Maria Cristina Rizzardi, who produce the Veronese wines of Bardolino, Valpolicella, Soave and Dolcè.

It is very exciting that we are able to combine delicious Scottish ingredients with the wine-producing talents of Italy, for what will be a unique opportunity for Edinburgh diners to experience."
This special evening will start at 7.00pm on 13 July 2006. The menu costs £45.00 per person, which includes a welcome reception, a sumptuous four-course gourmet menu, including a glass of wine per course as presented by The Contessa, after-dinner liqueur and tea or coffee.
