Balmoral tops poll as Scotland's best hotel
Edinburgh's landmark Balmoral Hotel has been voted the top hotel in Scotland and the third-best hotel in the UK, in the prestigious Guardian Travel Awards. Edinburgh has also been named the favourite UK city for the sixth consecutive year.
The results of the awards were based on 27,000 responses from readers of The Guardian, The Observer and Guardian Unlimited. The Balmoral stood out as a world-class player within the Best UK Hotel category.
This is an outstanding achievement for The Balmoral and The Rocco Forte Collection, and is testament to The Balmoral's commitment to providing an outstanding experience for its guests, with the highest levels of customer care.
The Balmoral has enjoyed an exceptional year, following its extensive £7-million investment programme, where all rooms and facilities were beautifully refurbished. The landmark property has consequently scooped a clutch of awards over the past year, including a Scottish Thistle Award for Hotel of the Year - Customer Care and, most recently, recognition within the Top 10 UK Business Hotels in the esteemed Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Awards.
